The Challenge
It has been apparent for decades now that the problem with vehicle tires is NOT going away! What can we do with them?

In the late sixties and early seventies the garbage collection industry was in such disarray and illustrating procrastination at its best giving a clear view of the sheer business opportunity at hand; consolidate it, regulate it, concentrate on putting quality practices in it and acquire it. This gave birth to jug naught companies such as BFI, WM, etc.

You’re probably wondering what the aforementioned has to do with the re-cycling of tires. Well it has every thing to do with it!

The Tire re-cycling Industry is now ready for a similar proven exercise!

Tires are classified as a “specialized solid waste” and are becoming quite a problem prorate to “Population Density” which needs “Localized Granulation”
This is just one part of the equation.

Tires are not the easiest waste product to transport. They are heavy and bulky so that the impact on transportation costs is “Demonstrative"
This is another part of the equation.

Tires do not de-compose so alternative disposal methods have been used over the years. The most popular having the tire broken up into a minimum of eight pieces for land fill or being burnt as “tire derived fuel" or "TDF”. In either case the environment is greatly impacted by the land fill being filled with material that doesn’t break down or the solid release of heavy sulphur smoke into the atmosphere when tires are burned for fuel! Either way the impact on our environment is devastating.

The Solution
KBI Flexi™-Pave was developed and is manufactured by KB Industries, Inc. KBI's founder has almost two decades of experience in the resilient surfacing industry, and pioneered the use of recycled rubber into an exceptionally durable and unique material to be used in a wide variety of applications!
